When will Silverlake customers be cut over to Fiber?

The main fiber construction work in Silverlake is complete, and most of the distribution fiber and fiber drops to the home have already been spliced. We are currently scheduling appointments for techs start cutting over customers to fiber on an individual basis in April 2016. By cut over, we mean the process of installing the fiber electronics box (called an ONT or optical network terminal) on the outside of the customer home, connecting a Cat5 Ethernet cable from the ONT to an inside Ethernet jack or router, and re-configuring the customers settings in our databases to switch them from the copper to their new fiber connection.

At the time of writing, our techs are still finishing up the cut overs in the last phase of the Chimney Rock (Nolan Park) project, which was our big project for 2015. As techs become available, crews will migrate over to Silverlake to begin cut overs there. We expect all of our techs to be full time in Silverlake doing cutovers by May 1.
