Direct Communications, Eagle Mountain’s local fiber optic broadband provider, donated $6500 to local schools in Eagle Mountain during the month of November 2015. Directcom has a long history of partnering with the local schools, and each year has provided a cash donation to all local schools, as well as encouraging academic achievement and good attendance with programs like Candy Bars for Stars. Direct Communications also provides 1 Gigabit fiber optic internet service to all local schools, connecting them to the Utah Education Network or Alpine School District.

Kip Wilson, General Manager of Direct Communications, explained: “We try to do good here in Eagle Mountain. We do what we can to partner with schools because are committed to the success of the young people of Eagle Mountain. We can’t be successful without Eagle Mountain being successful.”

A giant shout out and thank you to Direct Communications for their $500.00 donation to Black Ridge Elementary Music Classes. I just placed an order for more instruments for our classroom. Vicki Smith at Pony Express Elementary said: “I’m happy that Direct Communication is so supportive of our schools! Thank you for your continued donation. It is extremely helpful to have money that we can apply to an area of interest and passion. I plan to apply the $500 toward purchasing items/materials needed for hands on learning experiences by students. We are trying to incorporate lessons using science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). In so doing, we have found that many lessons require items that we have not yet purchased. This money will allow us to continue working in this area.Again, thank you so much for thinking of us and for your generosity.”
