Wondering if that Paymentus billing reminder is legit?
We have heard from several customers this weekend asking whether recent payment reminder emails and texts from Paymentus are legitimate.
Yes, the reminder email and text sent this weekend were legitimate. These will be sent on the 28th of each month.
Paymentus is the secure payment partner that Direct Communications uses for online bill payments. We moved to Paymentus in November 2024, but this is a new reminder automation, so it may be the first time some customers have received this particular type of reminder email or text.
This email came from the paymentus address iapp@paymentus.io and will likely show your Direct Communications account number. If you received this email reminder, the purpose was simply a courtesy reminder to let you know that your account still had a balance due for the current month—we want to avoid any disruption in your service experience.
Please note: even if you are enrolled in AutoPay, you may still receive a payment reminder if your scheduled AutoPay date is after your bill due date. The reminder does not necessarily mean your AutoPay has failed. It is simply letting you know that there was still an amount due at the time the reminder was sent.
If you ever feel unsure about a payment email, we recommend going directly to our official website, directcomfiber.com, to securely access your billing account, instead of clicking links in an email. Best practice is just to never click on links in any emails anyway.
We also encourage you to call our local customer care team at 801-789-2800 if you ever have questions about the legitimacy of an email or would like us to confirm your account status.
For those who reached out, thank you for being cautious and for checking with us.
Sincerely,
Your Direct Communications Team
